Elektrofi’s biomaterials are precisely engineered from micro- and nano-scale fibers using a proprietary manufacturing platform that is compatible with a variety of biological and synthetic polymers.  Our processing techniques are fully compatible with the inclusion of a range of functional agents and enable customization of the bioactivity for application-specific needs.


Elektrofi’s technology is advancing the state-of-the-art in biomaterials as a result of several unique attributes.  These include:

characteristics that preserve protein integrity;

with a number of different functionalization methods;

with a spectrum of fiber diameters from roughly 10 nm to greater than 1 μm;

Applications

 

WOUND CARE
Fibrous scaffolds exhibit biomimetic properties that encourage the ingrowth, attachment, and proliferation of various cells.  This has made them good candidates for tissue regeneration applications such as external wound repair, where simple scaffolds have

 

 

 

been shown to dramatically expedite the healing process. In certain instances, for example, scaffold-assisted wound closure is more than 2 times faster than existing treatments.
