Bio-manufacturing Engineer

Elektrofi is looking for a Bio-manufacturing Engineer that will play a key role in the development of its biologics delivery platform. This individual will join an early-stage, multidisciplinary team of scientists and contribute to a variety of process development and formulation activities in a highly collaborative environment.

Day to day activities and opportunities

  • Synthesize commercially-feasible processes based on existing proprietary benchtop methods
  • Design, prototype, and implement pilot-scale processing hardware
  • Perform process-related characterizations of various proteins
  • Identify opportunities for fundamental and/or process-related innovation in the formulation method
  • Lead various process-related industry partnerships

Key qualifications for strong applicants

  • a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
  • at least four years of industry experience;
  • a background in drug particle formulation;
  • direct experience with pharmaceutical spray dryers, spray freeze dryers, and/or related particle formation technologies;
  • experience working in a quality controlled and/or regulated R&D environments;
  • an ability to think critically and constructively in a fast-paced research environment;
  • strong scientific ideation skills and resourcefulness in testing related hypotheses;
  • sharp laboratory acumen and organizational skills; and
  • a demonstrated proficiency in effective written and oral communication.

Ideal candidates may also have experience with continuous processing systems; alternative drying technologies, e.g., lyophilization; drug product regulatory environments, protein formulation paradigms, and bioanalytical characterization techniques.

Formulation Scientist

Elektrofi is looking for a Formulation Scientist that will play key roles in the development of its biologics delivery platform. This individual will join an early-stage, multidisciplinary team of scientists and contribute to a variety of formulation activities in a highly collaborative environment.

Day to day activities and opportunities

  • Perform full analytical testing to support product characterization
  • Formulation of various proteins for stability testing
  • Perform process development activities and molecular characterization
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency needed to meet critical corporate objectives, encompassing the areas of analytical method development
  • Create and manage method protocols, data, and reports

Key qualifications for strong applicants

  • a Ph.D. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering or a related field
  • two years of industry experience is a plus;
  • formulation experience with biologics;
  • experience working in a regulated environment is a plus;
  • experience working in an analytical biotechnology, quality control or R&D setting;
  • an ability to think critically and constructively in a fast-paced research environment;
  • strong scientific ideation skills and resourcefulness in testing related hypotheses;
  • sharp laboratory acumen and organizational skills; and
